Hello, sorry If someone already said this, but I was too lazy to read all the posts.

The names for Galaxseeds should not be limited to those provided with the system update. Instead, FI's could allow players to firstly choose a limited name and then later on when they have time they could have a look at the names and see if they can approve the names we choose when we sign up. It would be an extra step but make the game more diverse and welcoming.

We use to manually approve names: it was time consuming for us and frustrating for people having their account refused.

Indeed, for our player's security, we had to block account with first names in it, a very common occurrence.

We came up with the current system as a better solution for everyone: new players have their account and character name right away, without needing to wait for us to approve them, there are no account blocked for "petty" reasons, and we have more time to work on updates.

Well, I really like my chosen name so could you approve it? It just seems like a huge chunk of galaxseeds was removed with this new update.

Well, then is the Guest_*numbers* apart of the new update too? Because when I log onto the Big Rip homepage, it is still Guest. Is it because I am not approved or just because its apart of the update?

Yes, the guest_numbers is part of the update: as we don't approve names anymore,t his block potenitally offensive content out and protect your identifiant better.

Your account name is visible only on the forums.

Will you change it so that it's not guest anymore later on? Or is it just going to stay permanent?

Currently, there is no plan to change this, but we'll consider it.

I think if people got their account refused, they should just suck it up and make a new one, because they obviously signed up with a name that had personal information or bad words in it.  And if it was time consuming, why don't you guys just hire more moderators?

Yeah but you still have to approve the accounts at SOME point.  And you guys obviously stopped approving the accounts, because now there's that glitch where it says WELCOME, GUEST on the home page.  Not a very good "solution" in my opinion.  GalaXseeds is dying out, nobody even wants to join this site anymore, and the new name system completely sucks.  Who wants to be called "MisterFingers" or "RobotFour" or "VeggieScythe"?

I think the best idea would be to change the name system back and change everyone's GalaXseeds username to their forum username if they joined after the update last february.

What you could do to solve your problem is change the sign-up system so nobody can use their accounts right after they sign up anymore.  They would sign up then there would be a message telling them that they have to wait for their account to be approved.  Then maybe two or three days later you can send them an e-mail telling them if their account has been approved or denied.  That way, they won't be able to complain if their account was denied for a "petty" reason.

Also I think the sign-up idea I just suggested NEEDS to be done, because the way the sign up is now, it's not safe at all.  Some random pedophile could sign up here and instantly have access to the forums.  And trust me: there IS a lot of personal information on the forums that you guys haven't edited.  In the neoshifters forums, for example.
